in Wegberg-Bissen
The word 'Loh' refers to the tanning bark and bones once milled in this mill. Due to insufficient water power, this mill in the small village of Bissen was not very profitable. In 1852, the local district council permitted the installation of an oil press. The two small ponds failed to reach a daily operating time beyond three hours.
In 1948, the occupying US forces stopped the production of cooking oil.
Despite the Kaiser family's extensive efforts, the mill stopped operating in 1957.
The mill ponds were filled in. Yet another mill died.
The mill is no longer recognizable as a mill.
